Fish Crumble

Fish Fridays! šŸŸ

Do other houses have fish on a Friday or is a Catholic guilt thing?šŸ¤”šŸ˜‚ also donā€™t look at this and go bleuch, donā€™t like blue cheeseā€¦my fam are theeeee worst eaters and they didnā€™t know there was blue cheese in there! It just adds a nice depth and saltiness to the sauce!šŸ˜

Grab:

1 packet of seafood mix (I also bulked it out with 2 more cod fillets)

1 leek, 1 carrot and 1 onion

About 200ml milk (enough to cover your fish in your pan)

Tablespoon of plain flour

150g blue cheese

100g strong cheddar

For the crumble:

200g plain flour

150g butter

100g oats

How to?

1. Place the fish in a pan and cover with milk. Poach over a gentle simmer for 10minutes

2. Drain the fish, reserving the milk. Place fish in an ovenproof dish

3. In your pan you poached the fish in, add a little oil and fry the onion, leek and carrot for 5 minutes until just sweated and starting to soften

4. Add a tablespoon of flour and cook for a few minutes over a gentle heat. Add the milk back in gradually, stirring continuously. Raise the heat until gently boil.

5. Add in the grated cheese and turn down the heat. Stir until the cheese has melted. Season with salt and pepper. Pour over your fish.

6. Make the crumble by mixing butter, flour and oats together by hand until fine crumbs. Season with salt & pepper. Spread over the fish and bake at 180oC for 25 minutes until golden brown and bubbling
